Every child speaking. Every child heard.
Every teacher empowered.
Designed in New Zealand by language experts and experienced teachers, Lexo Lab brings the natural way children acquire their first language to schools where English is a foreign language.
Speech first
Children don't acquire their first language through grammar rules. They acquire it through input they can understand, and by using language to communicate meaning.
Lexo Lab is built on the same principles. Each lesson starts with carefully constructed comprehensible input: short stories in which meaning is clear from context. Children are then prompted to speak with a purpose: answering, describing and retelling, rather than simply reading aloud or repeating. Language is introduced in useful chunks and builds systematically, from first words to full sentences.
This isn't pronunciation-checking software. It's a complete speech-first curriculum, with technology that listens to every attempt.
What it means for your school
For children
Every child speaks, every time, and gets an immediate response. They practise at their own pace, at home or in quiet time at school, and build confidence step by step.
For teachers
Every child's speaking is recorded and analysed, so you can see and hear exactly where each child is and what they need next, with no extra marking. It gives an English specialist far more reach, and gives a class teacher without an English background real support.
For schools
Lexo Lab works alongside the English programme you already have, filling a gap most programmes leave: individual speaking practice and assessment for every child, with clear progress the school can share with parents.
Become a pilot school
We're inviting five schools to help shape Lexo Lab and prove what it can do in real classrooms.
Free for the pilot. One term, one or two classes.
We set it up and train your teacher. Then the teacher runs it, with our support.
Founding-school pricing for good, if you choose to continue.
